Humane Society of Tampa Bay to offer free shots for first 1,000 dogs

TAMPA BAY, Fla. --- The Humane Society of Tampa Bay will offer free vaccinations to the first 1,000 dogs on Nov. 2.

The vaccinations will include: distempter/ parvovirus (DA2PP) and rabies. It will be at the Wimauma Civic Center from 9 a.m. to noon.

Feeding Tampa Bay will be there with a My Mobile Pantry where those in need of affordable food options can shop for their needs. Everything is under $2.

Each attendee who is interested at the shot clinic event will receive a sponsored voucher that will allow them to shop in the market for free.

The Humane Society said lines form early and there are requirements for your pets.

Here is a list of the requirements:

  • Dogs must be at least 8 weeks old to receive DA2PP vaccines and at least 3 months old to receive Rabies vaccinations.
  • We will not vaccinate litters of puppies, only individual puppies will be accepted.
  • Limit 4 pets per household.
  • Dogs must be on leashes.
  • For their own safety and security, cats are not permitted.
