HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. -- A Tampa Bay area family has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving after emergency crews rescued a toddler who nearly drowned.

According to HCSO, a mother found her 1-year-old child in the pool and immediately rendered aid until deputies arrived on scene. Upon arrival, deputies began CPR on the toddler until firefighters arrived and transported the toddler to St. Joseph's Hospital North in Lutz.

The child, who was in critical condition, was later flown to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa.

On Tuesday, deputies received the best news they could've hoped for: the child has fully recovered!

HCSO said in a Facebook post that deputy Kerr Craige stopped by the family's house for a welfare check and found out the child was back home.

"Holiday miracle!" HCSO said in a Facebook post.
