Hillsborough County officials host event to tackle illegal dumping in Palm River, Clair-Mel

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Hillsborough County Code Enforcement will host a Fight the Blight Community Cleanup in Palm River and Clair-Mel to combat illegal dumping.

From April 26 though May 3 residents can bring items such as furniture, tires, electronics, and metal from their property to a centrally located disposal site at Tidewater Trail and Windsor Way. The county will dispose of them for free.

Items can be brought to the disposal site from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cleanup is open to residents who live within the following boundaries:

  • North: Tampa Bypass Canal
  • East: Selmon/86th Street
  • South: Causeway Boulevard
  • West: CSX railroad tracks

Additionally, code enforcement will clean up several illegal dump sites in the community during the week-long event.

Yard waste, commercial vehicle tires, and hazardous chemicals will not be accepted. For more information, call 813-352-2473.
