The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County said they lifted the advisory after "follow-up testing was satisfactory, based on the marine water bacterial indicator results."

Initially, samples taken Wednesday, Oct. 16 were above the threshold for enterococci bacteria.

Enterococci bacteria can usually be found in the intestinal tracts of humans and animals, according to the health department. In high concentrations, it can cause human diseases, infections or rashes. It can be an indication of fecal pollution from stormwater runoff, pets, wildlife and human sewage.
