One person is dead after a dump truck crossed into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head-on on the Courtney Campbell Causeway Bridge in Tampa.
It happened Monday at about 10:25 a.m. at Rocky Point Dr.
Police say a dump truck was traveling westbound on the bridge and crossed over into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason.
An adult male passenger in the vehicle that was hit died of his injuries.
The driver of that vehicle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the dump truck did not suffer any serious injuries, and remained on scene to cooperate with police.
All lanes were shut down for almost an hour before reopening.
