HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A drunk driver was arrested after crashing into a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office patrol car Thursday.

It happened at about 10: 40 p.m. when Tyler Conrad was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima on Dale Mabry Hwy. at Mango Ave.

Deputy Benjamin Burgher was leaving a call when Conrad hit him. The man reportedly exhibited signs of impairment and had a strong odor of alcohol.

He refused to complete the Field Sobriety Exercises and was transported to Central Breath Testing.

Due to the indicators of impairment observed and the surrounding circumstances, Conrad was arrested for DUI.

The crash caused about $8,000 in damage and there were no injuries.
