The Florida Fish and Wildlife and Hillsborough County dive team recovered a body during the search for a missing jet skier on Monday morning.

FWC responded to Bellows lake near the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday for reports of a jet skier who never resurfaced after being ejected from the jet ski.

Eduardo Godfrey, 28, was driving the jet ski with 24-year-old Jeno Wesley on the small Hillsborough County lake on Sunday when the accident occurred.

Godfrey made a sharp turn, ejecting both of them off the jet ski and into the water. According to FWC, Wesley was wearing a life jacket and climbed back onto the jet ski and saw that Godfrey, who was not wearing a life jacket, was trying to swim back to the jet ski and then never resurfaced.

Investigators have identified the body as Godfrey's.
