When deputies arrived, they found a man that suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that neighbors in the area heard what they described as fireworks or gunshots between 8 - 10 p.m. on Saturday. They did not report it at that time.

Sunday afternoon, someone saw the victim's body lying in the grass and called 911.

Detectives are looking for two possible persons of interest. They are described as two males, about 5'9 to 6'1 and wearing a dark-colored face covering.

The two individuals were last seen exiting Sycamore Lane toward Williams Road.

It is unknown which direction the two went in once they got onto Williams Road, or if they left on foot or got into another vehicle.

"Our detectives are looking for anyone who may have seen or heard something on Sycamore Lane and Williams Road last night," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "A man was left for dead, and there is someone out there who is responsible for it. If you have any information, please come forward. It could be the tip we need to solve what happened in this case."

Detectives believe this is an isolated incident.

This is still an active investigation.
