HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A man is dead after deputies say he got into an altercation and was later shot early Sunday morning.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said at 12:37 a.m., deputies received a 911 call in reference to a shooting on the 700 block of Oceanside Circle.

When they arrived, deputies found a man who had been shot in the front yard. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives believe the man was at home with a female acquaintance. At some point, the man assaulted the woman with a knife. She then called another male acquaintance to the home for help.
Detectives said the two men had an altercation in the front yard of the home. The man, armed with a knife, stabbed the other man. The second man then arms himself with a firearm and shoots the man, who was armed with a knife.
The man who was stabbed was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. The woman at the scene was also transported as a precaution.
At this time, no charged have been filed.
