TAMPA, Fla. -- A local community will honor the Tampa teenager who died on a football field during conditioning drills.

The family of Hezekiah Walters teamed up with Men of Vision Inc. and the Hillsborough Education Foundation to offer a scholarship to honor Walters' legacy.

The two-year prepaid scholarship, the Hezekiah Walters Family Memorial Scholarship, will be given to a "deserving student in Hillsborough County Public Schools that embodies what Hezekiah stood for," according to a release from Men of Vision, Inc.

"Hezekiah's legacy will live on in all of us and this scholarship will help other students fulfill their dreams," Men of Vision, Inc. said in a release.

Walters was an incoming freshman at Middleton High School. He collapsed during conditioning drills on Tuesday.
