TAMPA, Fla. -- A teenager who lost his life too soon is still inspiring others to give back to their community.

Hezekiah Walters died in June during football conditioning drills at Middleton High School. Walters collapsed and died during one of the hottest stretches of summer.

On Thursday, dozens of people attended a memorial scholarship fund dinner in Walters' honor.

Ross Anderson, founder of Men of Vision Inc., remembers the late teen as "brilliant."

"He was just one of those young men who would need Men of Vision," Anderson said. "He was truly focused, driven and really added to the organization."

Those interested in donating to the scholarship program can visit either educationfoundation.com or by clicking here.

A cause of death for Walters has not been released.
