TAMPA, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office are investigating a deadly shooting that took place on I-75 early Thursday morning.
Around 3 a.m., troopers found two men dead from gunshot wounds in a white Nissan sedan on the southbound I-75 exit ramp leading to MLK Boulevard. Troopers say the men were 25 and 26, their families have been notified.
According to troopers, witnesses reported seeing people in a white Jeep Cherokee shooting at the sedan.
Troopers say early reports indicate a third person ran from the Nissan westbound on the interstate. That person has not been located.
Troopers are asking anyone with information to contact them by calling *FHP, 813-558-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 800-873-TIPS.
The off-ramp leading to MLK Boulevard shut down for hours before reopening.
