WIMAUMA, Fla. — An 18-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot while talking on the phone with his girlfriend in Wimauma.
According to Hillsborough County deputies, the victim, while on the phone, was standing near Aley Street and Railroad Street when he felt a pain in his upper chest. This happened around 11 p.m.
OVERNIGHT: Detectives investigating a shooting, area of Alley Street / Railroad Street, 18yo male was shot while talking on his cell phone. Victim was medevaced to @TGHCares, underwent surgery and listed in critical condition.

He was able to return home where his family called for help. A medical helicopter transported the victim to Tampa General Hospital, where he underwent surgery. He was listed in critical condition.
