RIVERVIEW, Fla. — A 16-year-old was arrested for having a gun in the trunk of his vehicle at a Hillsborough County school.
It happened at about 12:45 p.m. at Kids Community College Charter School located at 10550 Johanna Ave. in Riverview.
Deputies responded to the school when the principal received an email saying one of the students had the weapon in the trunk.
The principal reportedly confronted the student who admitted to having the weapon.
A search of his trunk revealed an unloaded Century Arms 9mm, semi-automatic handgun.
The student was arrested and charged with possessing a firearm on school property.
