A man was shot by an officer in Plant City. Police in Plant City responded to the 100 block of Drane Street at around 1:45 p.m. Saturday for a theft in progress. According to police, they made contact with the robbery suspect as his vehicle. The suspect attempted to flee from officers.
Police tell us some kind of confrontation happened between the suspect and the officer. The officer shot the suspect in self-defense.
The incident has been reported to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. They will conduct an investigation into the shooting.
