A man drowned in a pond in Plant City after his boat capsized. It happened around 6 p.m. Saturday in a pond just west of 1709 Turkey Creek Road.
Plant City Police arrived on scene to find a capsized boat about 50 feet from the shore line. Two people were on board the vessel.
Antonio Lopez, 28 of Plant City was able with swim to shore safely and was able to call 911 for the help.
Jose Perez-Bravo, 21 of Plant City tried to swim to shore, but did not make it. Dive teams recovered his body a short time later.
Florida Fish and Wildlife are continuing to investigating the accident.
