A new service that helps you get to and from your bus stop is expanding into Brandon.
It's called Hart's Hyperlink. An app lets you request a ride home from the bus stop or they'll even come pick you up at your house.
“It takes about two hours to get home because I have to walk a half an hour to get to my house,” Crystal Tanco said.
After two bus rides and that long walk, Tanco is used to a tough commute, rain or shine.
“When it’s raining I’m all soaked when I get home, but I try to manage,” she said.
Now, managing may be a little easier with Hart's Hyperlink service. It connects you with drivers to get you to and from your bus stop within a three-mile radius.
You can use the app or call to set up rides for $3 each way.
The service has expanded to the Westfield Mall stop in Brandon. It's already in the University and Carollwood areas.
“It’d save me a total travel time, going there and back with the VA about two to three hours,” Roger Glover said.
He's a veteran who travels for his cancer treatment.
“It’d make it real easy, it takes a lot of pressure off of me getting there on time,” Glover said.
Right now there are five ride-sharing cars, but they're expanding to 10 and looking for drivers. Commuters like Tanco are thankful for another option.
“It means like somebody cares actually, that we don’t go unnoticed,” she said.
Right now, Hyperlink runs Monday through Friday, but they're planning to add weekend service soon.
