A 23-year-old woman has been charged with robbing and murdering a man in Spring Hill.
Kayla Collins faces a second-degree murder charge in the death of Jeffrey Lott, 45, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
Lott’s body was found early Thursday morning in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn Express at 3528 Commercial Way, deputies said.
Lott, who appeared to have been robbed, had several gunshot wounds.
Deputies said Collins took Lott’s truck and left it outside a foreclosed home in Spring Hill where they also found some of Lott’s belongings.
Collins faces additional charges of armed robbery and grand theft auto.
