Up to 700 dogs and cats from multiple local counties will be available for adoption as part of the Tampa Bay Regional Mega Pet Adoption event.
Hernando County Animal Services is teaming up with Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk Citrus, and Hernando counties to hold this big event at the Hernando County Fairgrounds this weekend.
Adoption fees will be waived thanks to sponsorships from the Best Friends Animal Society and Pet Resources Foundation Inc.
The event hours are:
Friday, May 17 from 12 p.m.-6 p.m.
Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Sunday, May 19 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
All available animals will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and ready to go home with adopters the day of the event.
The Hernando County Fairgrounds are located at 6436 Broad St. in Brooksville.
