CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — Students and teachers at a Citrus County may have been exposed to Hepatitis A.
On Thursday, Crystal River Primary School sent home a letter saying that someone who frequents the campus tested positive for Hepatitis A.
Hepatitis A is a vaccine-preventable, communicable disease of the liver caused by the virus. The virus mirrors flu-like symptoms.
In the letter it states:
The Centers for Disease Control and the Citrus County Health Department strongly urge vaccination, although it is not mandated for school entry.
The school was being disinfected Thursday night.
