A 41-year-old man wanted by deputies is accused of trying to flee on an ATV, Citrus County deputies report.
Robert Weatherly, of 5341 W. State Street in Homosassa, had multiple felony warrants out for his arrest.
He is currently charged with drug possession with intent to deliver, driving on a suspended or revoked license (habitual), unlawful possession of a concealed handcuff key, auto theft, trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to deputies, they spotted Weatherly driving an ATV on Chassahowitzka Street on Sunday. When they tried to pull him over, he fled on his ATV and tried to out maneuver deputies by driving into a wooded area, an arrest affidavit states.
Deputies set up a perimeter and let a K-9 unit loose. The ATV was found abandoned in the woods, deputies say.
The K-9 unit then tracked a scent to the back door of a residence on Mary Ellen Terrace.
An arrest affidavit states the homeowner admitted to deputies Weatherly was hiding in the bathroom.
Deputies say they found Weatherly hiding under a mattress in a bedroom.
A search of the bathroom turned up a black pouch containing meth, pot, drug paraphernalia and a black handcuff key, deputies report.
Deputies say they ran the identification number on the ATV and learned it has been reported stolen in January.
Weatherly is being held without bond.
