A quarantined dog with some minor behavior issues has a new leash on life thanks to the keen eye of an FWC officer.

FWC Officer Joe Wolff, noticed a young yellow lab named “Sioux”  when visiting the shelter on December 25.

When Officer Wolff visited the shelter the dog was in quarantine for previous behavior, but he was impressed by the dog’s appearance, willingness and motivational drive.

He decided Sioux was a perfect dog for their training program.

On January 29th 2016, Officer Wolff arrived at the Citrus County Animal Shelter and paperwork was completed transferring this once rambunctious stray lab into a candidate for an FWC training course.

Hopefully, Sioux be helping to protect our Ports of Entry or possibly helping law enforcement officers in the field in the near future, shelter workers explained.
