Citrus County deputies say a 69-year-old medically disabled woman was intentionally locked out of her Inverness and left in the freezing cold Saturday night.

Kasey Jackson, 33, of Inverness, is now charged with battery on a person 65+ years or older.

According to deputies, they responded to a battery in progress Saturday.

Deputies say the elderly woman had been pushed and shoved by Jackson, which caused her to lose her balance and fall over a raised flower bed.

During the investigation, the elderly woman claimed Jackson locked her out of her own Friday night and refused to let her back inside.  At the time, the area was under a freeze warning.

The elderly woman was able to make it to a neighbor's house and find shelter, deputies said.

Jackson alleged the elderly woman attacked her first and she acted in self-defense.

A witness refuted Jackson's claims.
