Deputies from the Citrus County Sheriff's Office have apprehended a suspect they were searching for in connection to an attempted burglary that occurred on N. Crooked Branch Drive in Lecanto.
Investigators say a homeowner confronted the suspect in a shed in his backyard, and the suspect took off. The suspect may have been armed with the homeowner's shotgun, investigators say.
The suspect was being described as a white man in his 50s-60s wearing a dark shirt with very short of buzzed salt and pepper hair. He was thought to be diving an older model green stepside Chevy Truck, possibly a single cab.
The truck was last seen headed east on W. Live Oak St. in Lecanto.
The suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous, was apprehended Tuesday afternoon, and is currently being interviewed by investigators.
