A 28-year-old Citrus County man is accused of raping a female acquaintance.

Jesse Roepcke is now charged with sexual battery.

According to an arrest report, the women confided in her mother the morning following the incident and decided to report it to police.

Deputies say they responded to a Crystal River home Saturday and took the woman's report.

Roepcke was known to the woman and reportedly was a guest at the home, an affidavit states.  The woman told deputies she went to bed and awoke to find Roepcke in bed with her and nude.

She claims despite telling Roepcke to stop, he raped her, deputies say.

The woman told deputies she didn't fight or scream because she feared for the safety of others in the household, an arrest affidavit states.

Roepcke denied the allegations but later admitted to having consensual sexual intercourse with the woman, deputies said.

Roepcke also reportedly told deputies the woman jumped on him and forced him to have sex, an arrest affidavit states.

According to deputies, Roepcke also confessed during a recorded phone call with the woman.

He is being held without bond.
