A 14-year-old has been arrested for carjacking a 16-year-old at gunpoint in Winter Haven. It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Friday at 3 Brothers Mart at 223 Ave T Northeast.
The victim had returned to the car after going into the convenience store. As the victim closed the door, the suspect knocked on the window and opened the car door while brandishing a sliver handgun. The suspect removed the victim from the car. The suspect and another male jumped into the car and drove off.
The suspect was caught at around 3 a.m. after a 10 minute police pursuit that reached speeds of 125 miles per hour.
The 14-year-old was taken into custody and charged with Carjacking with a Firearm.
The suspect was released from juvenile custody on December 19th.
The 16-year-old victim was not injured.
Another person that was in the passenger seat is still being sought by police. Police do not have a description of that person.
