Tampa Police arrested an Airman on charges of video voyeurism. Police say 24-year-old Andrew Mayer placed an alarm clock with a hidden camera in the bathroom of a woman he serves with. The incident occurred in an apartment just off base.

"She knows my husband, she knows he's not like that," Mayer's wife, Tina Mayer, said. "It was a joke because she has 15 alarm clocks that she has set because she snoozes through them every morning."

According to police, the camera captured images of Mayer setting up the camera. The next images are of the nude victim.

Tina Mayer says neither she nor her husband knew the clock had a camera inside. In fact, she says her husband purchased the clock by accident when clicking through Amazon. She also says he accidentally left the clock in the bathroom and accidentally set it to record.

"It's 10:00 at night and he was dropping her off from the airport," Tina Mayer said. "He's tired, just wants to get home, forgets he leaves it in the bathroom, she finds it, he goes 'Okay, can you hold on to it for me and I will pick it up at a later convenience?' She says 'Yes.' Why she didn't move it from the bathroom, I don't know."

"This stuff is coming out so rapidly into the market that it's selling for $30 or $40 on the internet now," Michael Peros with Privacy Electronics said.

Peros is an expert in covert surveillance, including hidden cameras. He says nearly anything can have a camera and microphone in it. He says the best defense is doing your own research.

"I would suggest (going to) Google to search for hidden cameras and that would give you a good idea of what kind of cameras are being sold on the market and what kind of enclosures they come in," he said.

Police say the woman Mayer was recording found the camera in the clock herself and immediately reported it.

Tina Mayer says the Air Force is also investigating.
