MARGATE, Fla. (AP) — A man has been taken to a hospital after being struck by lightning in Florida.
Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Rescue Chief Dan Booker tells the SunSentinel the man was struck just before noon Monday outside a condominium complex.
Crews found the man in cardiac arrest, according to Ty Vassil the Division Chief Operations for Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Rescue.
Vassil said the man was transported to Northwest Medical Center in Margate. He is in critical condition.
His name hasn’t been released.
A series of rainstorms began moving across much of South Florida on Monday morning.
