UPDATE - Ms. Jacobs has been located. She is being evaluated by NPFR but appears to be okay.
She was found in the woods nearby by one of our officers who was off duty and searching by bike. Good job Ofc. Charles Ayres!
PREVIOUS REPORT - Authorities in North Port are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing elderly woman.
Joyce Jacobs was last seen on Saturday afternoon, at approximately 4 pm near the intersection of South Haberland Dr. and Namiot Cir per a release issued by theNorth Port Police Department.
The missing woman suffers from dementia, diabetes and has a history of heart problems. Joyce was wearing a grey shirt, blue jean shorts and brown sandals at the time of her disappearance.
