Woman charged with rape after claiming on Medicaid form 14-year-old is fathering her child

A pregnant Alabama woman is being charged with rape after the 19-year-old listed a 14-year-old as the father of her unborn child on a Medicaid request form, AL.comreported. reported that Mekenzie Leigh Guffey of Hollywood, Alabama was introduced to the boy in December at a nearby McDonald's. Guffey told authorities that she had sex with the boy multiple times in her car. 

The website reported Guffey's charges include second-degree rape, second-degree sex abuse, enticing a child for immoral purposes, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography.'

"She was proud of him being the father until she found out we were going to become involved," police Chief Jason Hepler told "She told us she didn't count but it was more than a few times that they were together."

If found guilty of the most severe rape charge, she could face up to 20 years in jail, and be forced to register as a sexual offender.
