More than 100 U.S. service members have been diagnosed with traumatic brain injury as the result of a January missile strike from Iran, CNN and Reuters reported Monday.

President Donald Trump and Pentagon officials initially said that no U.S. or Iraqi troops were injured in the Jan. 2 missile strike. Weeks later, the Pentagon reported that 64 service members were diagnosed with mild traumatic brain injuries.

According to CNN, the number of servicemen injured likely continue to change. It can take weeks to diagnose a mild traumatic brain injury, and CNN reports that 200 people were estimated to be in the blast zone.

Iran's missile strike came just days after Trump ordered the assassination of Iranian military leader Qassem Soleimani. That same night, a Ukranian passenger plane was shot down. Iran claims that launch was a mistake.

Both Iran and the United States have yet to further escalate military action since Iran's missile launch.
