According to the official Mega Millions website, Friday night's Mega Millions jackpot has jumped to $540 million.

The jackpot total has risen from $508 million due to rapid ticket sales across the country.

We could see a winner on Friday, July 8 if you believe in the power of 8's. Coincidentally, the only two Mega Millions jackpots won in 2016 were drawn on the eighth day of a month - January 8 and March 8. A winner on Friday could mean a clean sweep for the 8s.

You can only win if you play, so good luck!
