A Puerto Rico man pleaded guilty on Monday on charges of animal abuse after the 40-year-old was accused of decapitating his girlfriend's 2-month-old Chihuahua during a domestic dispute, Telemundo reported.
Luis Arroyo Arroyo was also charged with and pleaded guilty to a domestic violence charge stemming from the February incident. The puppy died immediately from the incident.
The incident took place in Lares, Puerto Rico.
Arroyo could spend up to seven years in prison from last month's incident, Telemundo reported. He is also being fined $3,000 for the incident.
