The death of a man found in his car Tuesday morning near where Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson is being investigated as a homicide.

DeAndre Joshua, 20, of University City was found dead in Ferguson on Tuesday near the location where Michael Brown was killed.

According to USA Today, at 9 a.m. Tuesday, a resident of an apartment complex spotted Joshua's body inside a parked car, a white Pontiac Grand Prix, near Canfield Green Apartments, the same complex where Ferguson Police officer Darren Wilson shot Brown on Aug. 9. Blood-soaked shattered glass lay in a pile on the ground beside the car.

His death is being investigated as a homicide, but police have not said whether it's connected to the violence that broke out after the grand jury announcement.

Police Chief Jon Belmar told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he isn't discounting the possibility that the death was linked to violence in Ferguson resulting from the grand jury's decision on Monday night.

An autopsy determined Joshua was shot once in the head.

Gasoline was used to light his body on fire, according to CNN

There are reports circulating online that state Joshua was a grand jury witness. That report has not been confirmed.

Information from CNN and the Associated Press was used in this report.
