Apple has fired an engineer after his daughter released a video of an unreleased iPhone X, the daughter announced in a video.

Brooke Amelia Peterson said in a video posted on YouTube that she visited her father, an Apple engineer, and took a video from the Apple campus on the trip.

"It suddenly went viral, and I have no idea how my video got so much attention given how many other iPhone X videos there are out there from other YouTubers," she said.

The video went viral before it could be taken down, she said.

According to The Verge, the video contained employee-only QR codes and a notes app that appeared to have codenames to unreleased Apple products. Peterson said made an "innocent mistake."

"Hate on me all you want, but please don't hate on my father because he is the best person," the daughter said in an emotional video.
