Crews with St. Petersburg police, FWC and the Coast Guard spent the early hours of Tuesday morning searching for a missing boater just off Weedon Island. The 40-year-old woman was located safely around 5:15 a.m. after several hours of searching.
Apparently, this missing woman was on a boat with three friends when they got into an argument just before midnight. Investigators told us that the woman jumped out of the boat and told friends she was swimming home.
Lt. Patrice Hubbard of St. Petersburg police said different crews searched much of the surrounding area, but then the woman just walked right up to officers and identified herself near her home in a nearby neighborhood.
Investigators haven't confirmed if alcohol was involved in this incident.
