Who doesn't like ice cream? There's a North Carolina ice cream shop serving up scoops...but not just to humans!

Putter (or Put-Put to her friends) is an 8" tall squirrel who loves herself some vanilla ice cream inside of a petite cone made just for her."

Twice a day, Putter comes down for a dose of sweetness. The shop owners say she loves vanilla, but they also give her no sugar added ice cream sometimes.

Scott and Pam Martin say the squirrel first showed up last summer.

"She came down and just got friendly with customers and ultimately took ones ice cream cone back up the tree," Martin said.

Ever since, she has made herself at home inside one of the trees above and comes down nearly every day for a scoop. The Martins say Putter has become a special piece of the family.

"You can call her name and she will literally come out of her nest in one of these big trees and hop her way down to the roof to ultimately to the rail and waits on her cone," they said.

Customers are taking notice too, but really, how could you not?

"One of the first things people as for is Putter here? Have you seen Putter today? So they come and they know she's here and want to see her," Martin said.
