Facebook has reached another milestone, announcing there are now more than 2 billion users on the social networking site.

Facebook's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg shared the news on his Facebook page on Tuesday morning. He said "We're making progress connecting the world, and now let's bring the world closer together."

He also posted an image of the world with facebook users by region.

Facebook says more than 175 million people "Love" something on the site daily and an average of more than 800 million people hit the "Like" button each day. Facebook users add new friends each day and according to the social networking site, more than 750 million new friendships are formed each day.

You may notice a personalized video at the top of your newsfeed to celebrate the milestone. Facebook created the videos to show how many new friends you've made in the last month and how many hearts you've shared this year. Be sure to share it with your friends.
