Investigators said two people are dead after an hours-long standoff with a man in St. Petersburg. St. Pete police confirmed it as a murder-suicide.
Updates overnight said the man was barricaded inside a home on 34th Street North for nearly 11 hours after detectives went there to question him about a missing person case Wednesday.
The man's family was among those trying to talk him out peacefully. SWAT crews were also on scene.
The identities of the two deceased have not yet been released.
