A 10 -year-old boy is recovering after getting hit by a driver on Monday.

Hillsborough Co. deputies say Diamies Muniz was getting off his school bus in front of the Shadow Pines Apt. north of 122nd Ave East when a driver on a dirt bike hit him in the legs.

That driver, 19 year-old Rico Vickers says she didn't see the bus or the boy until it was too late.

"I didn't see him 'cause he ran off the bus," he said, "and when he ran off the bus it's like I'm right by the door and bam, and like, oh my God."

Vickers was thrown off her bike, an 80cc Honda and planned to get head to the hospital.

Deputies say Muniz was taken to the hospital right after the accident.

A man who knows the boy tells ABC Action News he will recover.

Vickers now faces several charges including Failing to stop for unloading school bus, Driving a vehicle on a sidewalk, Operating an unregistered vehicle and Driving while license suspended or revoked.

"I could have went to jail," she said.

She promises to never ride her dirt bike on the sidewalk again and realizes she was fortunate.

"God blessed me," she said, "I hope God blessed that little boy too, I hope he feel alright."
