Chase Hartman, 11, of Tampa, has been named the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards state honoree as "Florida's Top Youth Volunteer."

The fifth-grader at Mary E. Bryant Elementary School collected more than 28,000 books with his best friend. They donated the books to 23 organizations across two states.

The two boys wanted to provide other children and teachers access to great books.

Chase visited the ABC Action News studios Sunday to talk about his award.

Check out what he will receive.
