Tampa Bay Lightning has received potential heartbreaking news for a playoff run.
Bolts officials say team captain Steven Stamkos will be off the ice for 1 to 3 months, which could prevent him from playing in the playoffs.
Stamkos reportedly felt discomfort in one of his arms and had it checked out,. The test revealed a blood clot.
He will have surgery on Monday and is expected to make a full recovery.
Meanwhile, the Lightning defeated the New Jersey Devils 3-1 at Amalie Arena Saturday night. Stamkos did not play.
