St. Pete Police look for motorcyclist in road rage incident

Posted

Detectives are looking for a motorcyclist who allegedly broke a van's mirror during a road rage shouting match on 34th Street N.

"Words were exchanged between the driver of the motorcycle and a passenger in the van," said St. Petersburg police spokesperson Rick Shaw. "The motorcycle driver reached out and punched the side view mirror on the van."

He said the damage to the van is estimated at $1,500.

"Remember, the roads are public property; they aren't your private property," said Shaw. "Take your time, create an environment inside your car that is conducive to relaxation."

Tampa driver Damian Williams said he doesn't confront other drivers because of incidents like this one in St. Pete.

"Drive safe, and don't worry about the guy with road rage," said Williams.

Officers said anyone with information on the man should text their tip information to 847411.
