St. Pete police investigates shooting on 36th Ave. N.

One man was shot after he argued with another man in the 8200 block of 36th Avenue North early Sunday morning, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. at a house at 8201 36th Ave. N., St. Petersburg police spokesman Rick Shaw said in a news release.

The shooting occurred after the victim and suspect began arguing. The names of both men have not been released.

No information was released about whether the men knew each other or not.

The victim was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he underwent surgery. His condition is unknown at this time. The other man is being questioned by police.

Some residents on 36th Avenue North told ABC Action News they heard six shots coming from the house at 3201 36th Ave. N. When they approached the house, they saw a man on the phone requesting an ambulance to come immediately. 

St. Petersburg police are investigating.

No other details were released Sunday morning.
