A 41-year-old St. Petersburg man has been arrested after Pinellas sheriff's deputies said he participated in an armed robbery that resulted in the death of Michael Biltoft.

According to Pinellas County sheriff's detectives, Biltoft, 28, and Shane Kurucz, 41, drove to a house at 5800 66th Lane North in Pinellas County with the intent of committing an armed robbery.

During the course of the armed robbery, Biltoft was shot by the resident, and Kurucz fled the scene.

Biltoft suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was found lying on the ground in front of the house by a neighbor.

Pinellas County detectives used various investigative techniques to identify Kurucz and locate him. Kurucz was taken into custody and driven to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.

Kurucz is scheduled for a first appearance hearing before a judge at 1:30 p.m. today, Thursday.
