Public school doors reopen in parts of the Tampa Bay area starting next week.
Many companies and organizations plan to make sure our schoolchildren are ready and set for the new school year.
They are teaming up with landmark institutions such as Westshore Plaza and Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Florida's annual Back-to-school sales tax holiday weekend to host back to school fairs.
An event touted as Tampa Bay area's largest Back to School Fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.Saturday, Aug. 4, at WestShore Plaza, 250 Westshore Plaza in Tampa.
Schoolchildren and parents will stroll among more than 70 vendor booths and tables, where businesses and nonprofit organizations will provide important back to school information and specialized items.
The first 500 children in line will receive free backpacks.
You can expect raffles, giveaway and live entertainment throughout the event.
Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine, Coast Dental and ABC Action News are among the sponsors.
Florida Hospital Partners and WWE wrestler Titus O'Neil partnered to present a "Back to School Bash" from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
It is a free event, but on-site registration is required.
Florida Hospital will provide free physicals for students and free health screenings for parents.
