UPDATE | A suspect has been arrested following reports of gunfire in Palm Harbor before dawn Sunday, authorities said.

Pinellas County sheriff's officials have not released the name or gender of the suspect.

Also no information has been revealed about what led to the sheriff's office receiving multiple calls about reports of shots fired on Canopy Oaks Boulevard about 2:53 a.m. Sunday.

ORIGINAL STORY | Pinellas County sheriff's deputies are investigating a report of shots heard in the area of Canopy Oaks Boulevard in Palm Harbor early Sunday, officials said.

The sheriff's office received multiple calls about residents hearing gunshots, Pinellas County sheriff's spokeswoman Deputy Jessica Mackesy said in a statement.

The incident reportedly occurred shortly before 3 a.m. Deputies went to the area  to investigate, gather information and make contact with residents.

SWAT was not activated, and no injuries reported.
