Blanton Elementary and Rawlings Elementary were placed on lockout and Dixie Hollins High and Pinellas Park Middle were on a lockdown after a reported shooting nearby.
The reported shooting was at 6681 58th Ave. One man was injured.
According to police, a woman heard a gunshot and walked outside to find a man dead in her driveway. Police combed the area for a suspect, but at this point are not calling it a homicide investigation.
The schools took action out of an abundance of caution.
A "lockout" means nobody outside can enter the school campus; a "lockdown" means students do not leave their classrooms.
