A 49-year-old woman is behind bars today charged with the stabbing death of her 51-year-old boyfriend in Port Richey, authorities said.

Angela Garrett of Vienna Lane in Port Richey has been charged with aggravated domestic battery following the death of Andrew Gluszek, Pasco County sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said in a news release. She was taken to the Pasco County Jail for booking.

No information was released about what led to the stabbing.

The investigation began about 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 6600 block of Ridge Road in Port Richey.

A Port Richey police sergeant found Gluszek, who was homeless, lying unconscious next to a business called Twice the Ice at 6670 Ridge Road in Port Richey, the release states. The victim was pronounced dead at 8:39 p.m.

During the investigation a stab wound was discovered on the victim's body. Garrett, the victim's longtime girlfriend, arrived on the scene and told investigators she stabbed Gluszek at her residence in the 7200 block of Vienna Lane Thursday night.

Vienna Lane is in the jurisdiction of the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, which then took over the investigation.

According to the release, Garrett told authorities she dated Gluszek for several years, and she stabbed him about two days ago.

The investigation continues.

The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy by the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner's Office. If warranted, new charges could be added, the release states.

Garrett has an extensive arrest history in Pasco County dating back to 2006. Prior to her most recent run-in with the law, Garrett was arrested Sept. 2 and charged with breach of peace, disorderly conduct; resist officer, obstructing without violence; and trespass in structure or conveyance occupied. She was released on a $1,250 bond on Sept. 9.
