Polk sheriff's deputies seek public's help to identify man in death investigation

Polk County sheriff's deputies are seeking the public's help to identify a man found dead Tuesday in a retention pond in Mulberry.

According to Polk deputies, the agency received a 911 call about 11 a.m. Tuesday from a witness who was fishing in the retention pond near Imperial Parkway in Mulberry and discovered the body floating near the shore.

When deputies arrived, they found the body of an unknown white man with brown hair. He was wearing a blue Florida Gators jersey and black and orange swim trunks.

The man also had multiple tattoos on his hand, arm, chest and knees. 

The cause of death has not been released.
